We want every child to know they are loved by God, valued by their church family, and created with a purpose. Our Children's Ministry provides a safe, welcoming environment where children can grow in their faith, build lasting friendships, and learn what it means to follow Jesus.
Why HMUMC Kids?
Your Child Will Build Meaningful Relationships. Children thrive when they feel connected. Through caring leaders, supportive friendships, and a loving church family, your child will experience a sense of belonging and community.
Your Child Will Learn to Serve Others. We believe faith grows through action. Children are given opportunities to serve, show kindness, and make a positive impact in the lives of others, helping them develop compassion and a heart for service.
Your Child Will Learn to Live Out God's Love. Our goal is not simply to teach Bible stories, but to help children apply their faith in everyday life. We encourage children to reflect God's love through their words, actions, and relationships at home, school, and in their community. We also invite our children to assist in worship through helping lead the Lord's Prayer, Calls to Worship, and by serving as an acolyte. There is also a special time in the 10:00 service when the children share with Rev. Jo a "Mystery Bag" moment.

Nursery
6 weeks - 5 Years
Each Sunday at 10 AM
Our Nursery provides a safe, loving, and welcoming space where your little ones can play, explore, and simply be kids while you participate in worship and church activities. Our caring staff and volunteers are committed to creating an environment where children feel comfortable, valued, and cared for. Whether it's your first visit or your child is a familiar face, we want every child to experience the love of God through the warmth and care of our church family.
Preschool
3 Years - Kindergarten
Each Sunday at 9 AM
Through engaging activities, stories, and caring relationships, we focus on two simple truths that we hope every child carries with them: God loves them, and their church loves them. Our goal is to help children feel known, valued, and connected as they begin their faith journey surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them.
Elementary
1st - 5th Grade
Each Sunday at 9 AM
Every month, our kids dive deep into a single Bible story, exploring it through a completely different lens each week—from creative experiences and hands-on activities to lively discussions. This unique approach helps scripture stick, giving kids a fresh way to experience God's love every single Sunday. We’d love for your child to come learn, wonder, and grow with us!
Wonderful Wednesday
1st - 5th Grade
Each Wednesday, 6-7 PM
Kids are invited to share a meal, enjoy engaging activities, and explore God's Word in ways that are meaningful and exciting. Whether your child is new to church or has been coming for years, they'll find a welcoming community where they can build friendships, grow in their faith, and discover how to share God's love with others. We'd love for your family to be part of it!
