More Ways to Be Generous

Your generosity towards Henning Memorial's Operating Budget makes our ministry possible. But, that’s not the only opportunity to make a difference.

Blue Bag Ministry

Blue Bag Sundays are the first Sunday of each month. Pick up a blue bag in the Gallery or Narthex and fill with non perishable food items.

Return the filled bag on Communion Sunday and grab a new bag to repeat for next month. All food donations are delivered to Care Help, the Biker Church, SC3, or Westlake United Methodist Food Pantry.

Friendship Meals

Mustard Seed

The second Monday of each month we deliver a warm meal and a frozen soup to people who may need a meal. If you would like to volunteer or know of someone who might benefit from a meal, please call the office at 337-527-5483.

The Henning Memorial UMC Mustard Seed, located just north of our main building, is the hub of our creative ministries. Donated to the ladies over 100 years ago, this old house is home to pottery groups, sewing ministries, quilting groups, and small groups "circles."  The Mustard Seed has been a blessing to many over the years.

Sometimes accidents and/or surgeries happen. If you find that you are in need of medical equipment, we may have the item available to borrow. We have a supply of medical equipment that has been donated, such as, wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, shower chairs and bedside potty chairs. Contact the office at 337-527-5483 for more information. We also take donations of items that you may no longer need.
